Climate Conversations Sheffield

Getting people talking

"Climate Conversations Sheffield is a small voluntary group that runs events and activities to get people talking about climate change. This includes “Barstool” events in public places where we ask members of the public what they think and feel about climate change. Talking about climate change raises awareness, helps with climate anxiety and can lead to action, whether this is lifestyle changes or pressuring politicians to prioritise this issue".

What does the average citizen on the street think about climate change? How much do they know about the issue, and what do they think should be done?

CCS has spent over three years listening to ordinary people in shopping centres, markets, sports centres, parks, and other public spaces talk about climate change. We asked them three open questions: how did they feel about it; what did they think had the biggest effect on climate change; and what did they think should be done about it - and by whom.

The answers might surprise you - come and join us to find out more!

There will be an opportunity for you to network at the end of this session and discuss how our findings might inform your own endeavours as climate activists, educators, policy makers or concerned citizens.

Free refreshments will be available. Get your free ticket here.
